In our ongoing efforts to gain knowledge about the latest and greatest from Ford motor, and all the related services that we offer for them – We generally find that we need to own some of these cars in order to truly figure them out from top to bottom, and front to back as far as powertrian and engine management enhancements are concerned.
This means that my beautiful and very dialed in 2008 Mustang GT has to be sold in order to make room for the next release from Ford that I will choose to get into in the months to come.
As of late 2009 the car has about 13,000 mile on it. It's my personal car, so it is meticulously cared for inside and out. It is not a daily driver, only a fair weather car. Although the car has been drag raced quite a bit, it is by no means abused, beat-up or battered in any way. All of the cosmetic and powertrian changes that were performed were done starting when the car was only a few weeks old and had only about 500 miles on it at the time.
Any info on this cars performance on the chassis dyno, and the ¼ mile, plus other info on the car can be found in its profile on the Alternative Auto web site.
I will simply say that this car is as clean as new, 100% adult treatment, and is truly show and go ready. All of the engine and power train/performance enhancements were professionally installed and tuned at our facility
It runs on '93 octane, and on totally streetable Nitto 20in drag radials it will effortlessly run high 10's in the ¼ mile by simply leaving the shifter in “D”.
No distasteful and what we feel would be improper mods were done to the car. All of the suspension is stock, so it still has a stock like firmness, but nice, non-clunky, non-bone jarring ride. Because of the 20in wheels and tires it handles much better then stock, but takes the bumps nicely still.
The interior is black with Red Leather seats and is totally stock otherwise, with no gaudy and needless aftermarket gauges or needless add-ons.
Just in all external cosmetic, Wheels & Tires + 14” brakes, and powertrain modifications/enhancements alone on this car would cost upwards of about $24K - 25K to have done at professional facility like ours.
Just to name a few:
- It has Big 20in wheels and tires. Rear rims widened to 10.5”
- Large 14in Baer brakes on all four corners
- One Piece light weight aluminum drive shaft
- 3.55 gears with Eaton posi and stock 31spline axles
- Battery neatly relocated to the trunk's spare tire well
- Forged 4.6L short block with ported 3V heads, HotRod cams, BBK headers with cat'd X-pipe, FlowMaster delta-50 mufflers, Complete 2.3L intercooled Whipple @ 14psi of boost with 60lbs injectors, and complete Shelby GT-500 twin fuel pump system.
- Full 8-rib belt conversion to run both accessory's and the Whipple Supercharger
- Alky injection kit with large 2-gallon reservoir
- Several external cosmetic changes like; Shelby GT-500 deck wing, factory California Special side scoops, Eleanor style front grill, smoked front marker lights, lower front chin, large stainless exhaust tips, 35% tinted windows all around, painted side mirror covers.
- As an added bonus: all of the original parts that were removed from the car like all of the Exhaust, stock 17” wheels & tires, stock brakes, stock wing, stock 3.31 gears & posi, are all included.
- And above all -- the entire stock 4.6L 3-valve long block-which was pulled from the car at about 500 miles new, is included in the asking price of the whole car and combo
If you are interested in my car, and you come take a look at it, I assure you - it will not be a waste of your time!!
I am asking $36,500 for my car, and that includes all of the original take off parts, wheels & tires, plus the entire original engine.
This powerful and very fast GT is extremely drivable and tame for everyday considering its level of mods, needs little to no maintenance for a car of this caliber. And although it's not a Shelby (comparably speaking)… It will put most stock and highly moded Shelby 's in their place in the ¼ mile and in other arena's. Because it's a 5-speed automatic it easily gets the job done on 20in Drag radial's and no frustrating, inconsistent typical clutch and manual trans related durability and missing shift problems that plague most stick cars.
